One of the earliest 20th Century baseball card
sets, this 1904 issue from the Fan Craze Company of Cincinnati
was designed as a deck of playing cards and was intended to be
used as a baseball table game. Separate sets were issued for the
National League, which are printed in red, and the American League,
which are blue. Both sets feature sepia-toned, black and white
player portraits inside an oval with the player's name and team
below. The top of the baseball card indicates one of many various
baseball plays, such as "Single", "Out at First",
"Strike", "Stolen Base", etc. The unnumbered
cards measure 2-1/2" X 3-1/2" and are identified as
"An Artistic Constellation of Great Stars." NM-MT. Top
notch!
