Enos Slaughter
|
|
(b. April 27, 1916 - d. August 12, 2002)
|
| Enos Slaughter would do anything - and often did - in order to win, using hustle to make up for any shortcomings in talent. His mad dash from first to home on a double won the 1946 World Series for the Cardinals. He led the NL in base hits in 1942 before going to war; he led the league in RBI when he came back. "Country" played on four world champion clubs. |

| Comments: The 1951 Bowman
issue has always been the choice for Enos. I first purchased a PSA
7 example from Kit Young on eBay in May, 2002. It was upgraded to
this PSA 8 in July, 2004 after winning an eBay auction from seller
Battersbox/Paul Sjolin. |
